10 Ways to Express Anger in Text-Speak
SMS otherwise known as Short Message Speak is a way of communicating via text messages on a cell phone.
Texting has become an international trend that has captivated the young and old. Teenagers especially have begun to use texting as their main form of communication. Different situations call for different messages and below you will find a list of ten ways to express anger in text-speak.
- 182. Means “I hate you”. This tends to be used in a large portion of teenager’s normal vocabulary, so of course, they had to come up with a short hand version of it for texting.
- BM. Means “Bite me”. This is another common term used by teens. However, you need to be careful when using this with older adults, as BM tends to mean something else entirely to them!
- BOB. Means “Back off Buddy”. This can be used as either a warning or a way to show you want the topic of the conversation to end.
- Facepalm. Means smacking your head with your hand in frustration. Many of us do this to express annoyance, and we all know that teens can get annoyed very easily.
- IDC. Means “I don’t care”. This phrase tends to get overused in our everyday vocabulary, especially since it usually isn’t the truth, but nevertheless, these common terms need a short hand version as well.
- LMOOI. Means “Leave me out of it”. This one is very helpful in the gossip crowd when you do not want to be involved.
- MYOB. Means “Mind your own business”, and can be very helpful when others are trying to pry into your conversations or ask about situations that they are not involved in.
- OMDB. Means “Over my dead body”. This one is for the overly dramatic.It can be used when trying to express that you do not want something to happen, and you intend on making sure it does not happen.
- SH^. Means “Shut up”. I do not think that a day has ever gone by when I have not heard this phrase said somewhere. However, you may want to be careful as some people use this term jokingly, as well, which is an issue when texting, as it can be difficult to tell the intent without voice inflection.
- WDALYIC. Means “Who died and left you in charge”. This is a great one for teens as they can have problems with anyone asserting authority over them and do not like being told what to do.
These short hand text versions of angry expressions can and are used by everyone. However, teens were the focus of discussion due to their flair for over dramatizing. They also tend to have a little less self-control than most adults when it comes to suppressing one’s emotions in text messages and in their general conversations as well.
